Setting intentions for the year ahead is a great way to re-align with what’s truly important in your life.

The last two years of living through a pandemic has shown us how important it is to look after our health and mental wellbeing.

As a meditation teacher and wellness coach I have distilled four key components to supercharge your intention setting.

The formula I am sharing with you is from my New Year Intention Setting Masterclass. Whether you set intentions yearly or never bothered before, this formula could be a game changer.

For this process you will need a pen and paper and a quiet space where you will be undisturbed for 20 minutes

THERE ARE 4 KEY COMPONENTS TO FOLLOW IN ORDER

Important to note: Run through the process eyes closed (as this is key for the visualisation aspect), and then complete each step by writing your thoughts down so you can reflect and come back to it when needed.

Start with meditation

Meditation plays an important role in this formula, because you shift your energy and clear your physical and mental space allowing you to drop into ‘the zone’.

If you have been taught how to meditate, use that technique. Otherwise you can simply sit comfortably, close your eyes, and tune into your breath. Lengthening your inhale and exhale, allowing the body and mind to start to settle, feeling calmer and more present.

Feeling gratitude

Gratitude is key for achieving your goals because it creates a state of abundance within you. It is only when you align vibrationally with ‘abundance’ you are able to attract from that frequency.

Now that you are in a relaxed state following the meditation, close your eyes and start by reflecting on things you are grateful for this past year, looking at your professional life, your personal life, your health and wellbeing, and your home life.

Allow the feeling of deep gratitude to come into your body. You are reminding  yourself of how fortunate you are and how much you’ve already accomplished.

This is a very powerful abundance message that you have sent to your subconscious mind.

Visualise your intentions

Focusing on what’s important to you creates clarity and purpose. A powerful technique for achieving your goals is through visualisation, seeing yourself as if it’s already happening in your life.

Visualising your intentions helps to program your subconscious mind. Research shows that visualising an ideal future outcome can actually program the brain to increase its likelihood of happening.

For this process, close your eyes and visualise yourself already living in this new reality. Not only seeing yourself but really feeling into it, and what it looks like as you run through these areas of your life; Professional, personal, health & wellbeing, and home life.

Take a few deep breaths and allow this feeling to expand, the feeling of you already living and embodying the intentions you are setting out for yourself.

Take action

True transformation takes place through your daily habits. So, make an action plan for those small changes which over time will bring bigger changes. This allows for positive feedback without becoming overwhelmed.

It’s important to also keep an open mind to how life unfolds, not being too fixated on a particular outcome but ultimately moving in the direction of what’s truly important.

This Intention setting process will run complimentary for all GreenCare members in January, and also available as a New Year Intention Setting Masterclass which you can register via soelae.com.
