Mental Health

Mental health conditions are often treated with pharmaceutical drugs which usually have a number of side effects including insomnia, headache and drowsiness. Research shows that some mental health disorders such as anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD can be benefited by the use of plant based alternatives without the negative side effects from traditional medicines. Endocannabinoid and plant based medicines have been shown to help regulate the system that causes fear and anxiety in the body and brain.

Chronic Pain

One of the most widely popular uses for plant based and endocannabinoid medicines is for pain management. Patients are increasingly searching for an alternative to traditional pain-relieving medications, including painkillers and opioids, to help manage their symptoms. Research shows alternative medicines may ease certain types of chronic pain, including pain resulting from nerve damage and inflammation, improving patients quality of life without causing serious side effects.

Gut Health

Some research suggests that endocannabinoid medicines may play a role in achieving good gut health. In particular, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, might be positively influenced in part by these alternative treatments which might modulate inflammatory responses. Plant based medicines can also assist with appetite stimulation and help to reduce nausea and vomiting.

Sleep

There are many plant based treatments used as a sleep aid that have been shown to reduce the symptoms of insomnia, increase the onset of sleep and increase the overall duration of sleep without causing the patients to feel excessively tired the next day.

Anxiety

Plant based treatments and endocannabinoid medicine can alleviate anxiety by activating certain biological receptors and pathways associated with adenosine and serotonin. It can also slow and reduce the uptake of beneficial chemicals like serotonin, dopamine and GABA, allowing our bodies to use these naturally produced chemicals for a more sustained period of time.

Cancer Symptoms

Studies have shown that there are possible benefits of endocannaboid medicine on relieving cancer symptoms and treatment side effects. This includes alleviating nausea and vomiting for patients undergoing chemotherapy and assisting with cancer-related pain by cannabinoid receptors in the brain and other parts of the body. Nerve pain as a result of chemotherapy or other traditional cancer treatments may also be effectively treated and there are some studies that show that plant based alternatives may also help improve appetite for people with cancer.

Neurological

Plant based medicines are thought to help support healthy brain function and encourages neurogenesis. They can assist in the reduction of neurodegeneration as some are an antioxidant, which is also neuroprotective and antipsychotic

Due to its ability to reduce muscle spasms and seizures, more and more researchers are conducting studies into the treatment benefits of endocannabinoid medicines on those with Epilepsy.

Migranes

Migraines are very common with more than 80% of people experiencing migraines before the age of 35. Some people find that their headaches can lead to migraines and if they are frequent, over the counter medicines simply do not work after prolonged use. Plant based alternatives are used to treat migraines if traditional migraine medications are no longer helping with patients sometimes seeing a drop in the frequency and severity of their migraines.

Chronic Illness

Suffering a chronic illness effects a patients quality of life and often have multiple and complex causes. Plant based medicines are a great alternative to pain medications and opioids when managing chronic pain. Some common chronic illnesses include Fibromyalgia, Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
