According to Migraine and Headache Australia, 4.9 million people in Australia suffer from migraines. Migraines are more common in women with 71% of migraine sufferers being female. 86% of those who suffer from migraines are of working age.

What are the symptoms of a migraine?

Symptoms include intense, debilitating headaches, nausea, vomiting, difficulty speaking, numbness or tingling, and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraines can last from anywhere between 4 to 72 hours.

What are traditional treatments for migraine pain?

Traditional treatments for migraines include over the counter painkillers, chiropractic care, massage, acupuncture, relaxation techniques, hypnotherapy, avoiding certain ‘trigger’ food/drinks, and prescription medication.

Are there alternative options for the treatment of migraine pain?

If you are experiencing issues with migraines and have tried other medications that haven’t worked for you, we encourage you to seek medical advice and speak with one of our experienced practitioners.

Kathleen is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a proven track record of assisting clients in finding relief through alternative plant based medications.

With over 25 years experience in women’s health, Kathleen has extensive experience in looking after female veterans who experience chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD and related insomnia (at unacceptably high rates); women experiencing chronic pain associated with endometriosis or other chronic pelvic pain syndromes; sexual health, vulvovaginal pain, pain with intercourse, and pain related to menopause.

After experiencing the positive effects plant based medicine had on patients in the USA, Kathleen undertook the training/education to become a certified cannabis prescriber. After moving to Canberra from the USA, Kathleen became an authorised prescriber in Australia. 

Kathleen is driven by her passion to help patients on their healthcare journey through alternative medication.
